How it works

You walk. EgzoPower adds the assist.

The Hypershell X exoskeleton is a lightweight frame worn on the hips and thighs. It doesn't walk for you: it assists your natural leg movement, so climbs, longer trails and full-day trips cost you less energy.

The EgzoPower exoskeleton: hip belt, motor and thigh straps

What it is made of

  1. Hip beltWe put it on with you and adjust it to your height.
  2. Motor at the hipIt senses your step and matches the support to your walking pace.
  3. Thigh strapsThey carry the support to your legs. We fit them to your build.
  4. Simple to useSwitch it on with the button on the device and choose the level of support. We start you on a gentle setting.

Three steps

  1. Put it on

Adjustable hip and thigh straps fit the device to your body in a few minutes: we'll show you how at pickup.

  2. Start walking

You walk with your natural stride, just like always: the exoskeleton follows the movement of your legs.

  3. Get the assist

The motors engage with the rhythm of your stride and help lift your leg, especially uphill.

First use at delivery

You're not left to figure it out on your own: the whole fitting process happens at delivery, before you head out on the trail.

  1. Fitting the equipment

We adjust the hip and thigh straps to your body on the spot, at delivery.

  2. Instructions

We show you the basic controls and explain what to expect on the trail.

  3. A short test before you set off

A few steps before the start, so you feel the assist before heading out on the trail.

Not one mode: recognized situations

The assist isn't a single on/off setting: the system recognizes different situations on the trail and reacts differently to each one.

Light and comfortable all day long

We're removing one worry: this isn't heavy, cumbersome gear you'll be thinking about all day.

What happens underneath

How EgzoPower knows when to help you

This recognition works entirely in the background: you don't set anything manually while walking.

  1. Sensors read your movementA sensor system continuously reads how you move (your stride, the terrain, the incline) step by step.
  2. The device recognizes the situationIt recognizes whether it's a climb, a descent, stairs or flat ground, and picks the matching assist.
  3. Assist kicks in within a fraction of a secondThe response is almost instant: per the manufacturer's lab tests, in as little as 0.31 s.

According to the manufacturer, perceived effort drops by about 30 to 39%, depending on the model. Independently certified: TÜV Rheinland and SGS.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't walk for you and doesn't replace your technical skills on the trail.
  • It doesn't change a trail's technical difficulty or assess weather or terrain conditions for you.
  • It's not a medical device: it doesn't treat anything and isn't meant for rehabilitation. You need to walk on your own and keep your balance confidently.

Important. This is a sports and leisure device, not a medical device. If you have any doubts about your health, ask your doctor.

You don't need to be an athlete. It's enough that you walk on your own and keep your balance confidently. The assist reduces effort, but still pick a route that suits you: we're happy to help.
