Frequently asked questions
We've collected the questions we hear most often about the Hypershell X exoskeletons. Didn't find your answer? Contact us directly.
Rental
No. Insurance is included in the rental price, so we do not take a deposit.
The shortest rental is 4 hours, a good way to try the support. You can also rent it for a day and extend by further days. We quote groups and longer rentals individually.
Equipment insurance is included in the rental price, and at handover we show you how to use it safely.
The device
No. It assists your natural movement, but you're the one taking every step. See the “How it works” page for more on the principle behind it.
There's no separate control while walking: sensors detect the movement of your legs and the motors engage automatically, in rhythm with your stride.
Usually yes. You can feel the assist within a few steps. That's why we always do a short test at pickup before you head out.
No. At pickup we fit the gear and show you the basics, and a short test is enough to feel confident.
The hip and thigh straps are adjustable, so we fit the exoskeleton to you individually at pickup: if you're unsure about sizing, message us before booking.
Usually yes. The frame is built around a hip belt, so it typically works fine alongside a hiking backpack. With very large packs, we recommend checking the fit at pickup.
Yes, the exoskeleton doesn't interfere with poles: use them as you normally would.
At pickup we adjust the straps to your body, walk you through the assist modes, and do a short test before you set off.
It depends on the model: up to 17.5 km in Eco mode on the Hypershell X Pro S and up to 30 km on the Hypershell X Max S. Full specs for each model are in the Rental section.
The housing has an IP54 rating, so it handles light rain and dust. In very heavy rain, we recommend the same care you'd take with any electronic gear.
The manufacturer rates it for -10°C to 60°C, so a typical Tatra winter is within the device's specification.
Trails and safety
EgzoPower is not a medical device: it doesn't treat anything and isn't meant for rehabilitation. If you have heart, joint or balance problems, or any other condition, ask your doctor before renting whether this kind of activity is right for you. We're happy to answer any questions about the device itself.
No. It assists your physical effort, but it doesn't change a trail's technical difficulty or replace your skills and judgment of conditions.
You always decide which trail to take, based on your own skills and current conditions: the exoskeleton reduces fatigue, but it doesn't assess trail safety for you.
Yes. You do not need to choose a model in the form: when we call you back, we will suggest which model suits your plan better.
Groups
Yes. We bring the devices to your club, a hall or a park. Everyone can try the exoskeleton on and take a walk on the spot.
We organise demos and trips for groups from all over Poland.
The quote is individual, matched to the number of participants and the trip plan. Write or call us and we will prepare it for you.
Yes. We will tell you how to apply for funding for the trip.
